The Platform Magazine Foundation is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) organization committed to empowering voices, educating communities, and transforming awareness into measurable impact. Rooted in the belief that real change begins with informed storytelling and community connection, our mission is to support veterans, military families, students, and underserved populations through programs that advance STEMM education, public health awareness, advocacy, and service-based leadership.
We operate at the unique intersection of science, service, and storytelling. What began as The Platform Magazine LLC a publication amplifying real-life stories of resilience, innovation, and community leadership has evolved into a full-scale foundation dedicated to turning inspiration into action. Through events, publications, outreach initiatives, and partnerships, we mobilize individuals and organizations to stand for compassion, education, and social responsibility.
Our Core Pillars of Impact
1. STEMM Education & Outreach
We believe access to science and innovation should never be limited by background. Our Foundation delivers STEMM-focused educational programs to military children, Title I schools, and community youth organizations through workshops, publications, and hands-on learning events. These efforts not only build knowledge but also create pathways to future careers in science, technology, engineering, medicine, and more.
2. Storytelling & Public Awareness
As the media arm of our foundation, The Platform Magazine continues to elevate stories that spark change from veterans overcoming trauma and scientists pushing boundaries, to advocates advancing health, wellness, and community care. Each story serves as both inspiration and education, positioning public awareness as a form of prevention and empowerment.
3. Community Engagement & Veteran Advocacy
Our foundation actively develops partnerships with veteran-led organizations, service dog programs, educators, and health advocates to provide wraparound support that addresses real challenges such as mental health, transition struggles, animal welfare, and social reintegration. We believe veterans are not simply beneficiaries of support, they are leaders, mentors, and protectors of their communities.
Our Vision for the Future
We envision a world where science is accessible, military families are supported, and every story has the power to heal and mobilize. Whether through scientific research initiatives, fundraising events like the STEMM & Strides Race Series, or collaborative publications and awareness campaigns, The Platform Magazine Foundation serves as a catalyst for unity and forward momentum.
This is more than a nonprofit, it is a movement built on courage, compassion, and community. We invite supporters, educators, veterans, corporations, faith-based groups, and everyday storytellers to join us in elevating voices that matter and building programs that endure.
Together, we are not just publishing stories — we are writing the future.
